Hello again from Jay and Libby - and some very hot sunny weather. Last Friday we did a job with Grand Lawns( Rob a lovley colleague of ours) it was in the Staffordshire Village of Elford. Beautiful houses and scenery the sort you know that if you were lucky enough to live there you'd really made it in life!!
Me and Jay climbed a fence where the goats were sunning themselves and telling us that they really didnt want us in their field. We then had to trim and tidy a huge hedge that surrounded the cottage. i was armed with my tonne bag, fork, leaf blower and jay armed with the pole hedge trimmer and steps. We took the side off and then topped the hedge cleaning up as we went it was a beast of a hedge in width and length. about 100 metres in length and 10 foot wide in places. Jay had to really stretch even with the pole hedgetrimmer to reach across the top, but we tackled it and as we got to the first corner it was time for a cold one. We sat in the shade and enjoyed some freshly made sausage rolls provided by the customer, Rob didnt get in there quick enough and got left with the last two. After wed had our half an hour break we got back to the job in hand, i took over with the pole hedge trimmer and whipped the side of the hedge off whilst Jay trimmed the top, a little feminine touch was needed ;). By the time wed got to the end of the outside it was time for lunch. Mick had brought some home grown lettuce and Radishes, and id brought my eggs freshly laid by my chickens, so we did a trade. After sitting in the shade it was time to get back to work on the hedge. The goats were pleased with the green leaves that had been left on the ground off the hedge they seemed happy again and had forgotten that we had took over their field. We finished off trimming the inside and topped the bits we couldnt reach from the outside. It was good timing as the other lads had finished trimming the other parts of the garden and then packed all our tools away in the van and said our goodbyes and went home good job boys and girl :) Take care bloggers :)
